What a great night!!!! I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Maryann Robertson of Rare*BNB to talk about the "Filling Innisfil" initiative that she started in support of the Troy Scott Community Fridges in the Town of Innisfil.
Maryann is hoping to host several events throughout the year to support the growing need of filling the Troy Scott Community Fridges. These fridges have been set up by the Town of Innisfil to assist those in need all year round. Individuals who struggle to put food on their tables can simply go to one of the fridges and take what they need. Anyone who would like to donate to the fridges can contact the Town of Innisfil or join Maryann's Facebook group called "Filling Innisfil" to find out how to contribute.

The need for this interview is heart breaking as we speak about the Samsara Saints Ride for COOP. Jack (Samsara Saints member) and I provide details of another member's journey and need for support after suffering life altering injuries from a motorcycle crash that was not his fault.
Scott Cooper was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that required him to be air lifted to a Toronto trauma centre. Scott's Samsara Saints brothers will be hosting a poker ride to support him during this challenging time. Scott will need to concentrate all of his efforts on recovering and this ride will be a huge part of his recover.
Please come out on Saturday, Aug. 19th from 9am-5pm at The Last Shot Bar & Grill to show your support and love for a fellow rider in need. Thank you to Jack for taking the time to meet with me and discuss details of Scott's situation and the importance of this Ride.

I had a great interview tonight with the creator of the ever growing Facebook group called Random acts of Alliston Kindness.
We talked about the amazing initiatives that have been fostered through this group including the Random Acts Food Bank. This food bank is located at 220 Beattie Ave in Alliston and it’s open to anyone who needs it 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

It was a pleasure interviewing Lippy and Luc of Kings & Queens Riding Club and talking about the Poker Run they organize each year in support of Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) or more commonly known as “Brittle Bone Disease”.
Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is an inherited (genetic) bone disorder that is present at birth. It is also known as brittle bone disease. A child born with Brittle Bone Disease may have soft bones that break (fracture) easily, bones that are not formed normally, and other problems. Signs and symptoms may range from mild to severe.

It is always wonderful to speak with a business owner who takes the time to go out on the streets to help those in need.
Joe DaSilva and I spoke about the Portuguese Bake Shop and Chicken House that he owns and how he and his wife make and deliver food and clothing to individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
No one knows what circumstances cause anyone to end up on the streets, but thanks to business owners like Joe & Claudia and the volunteer group they partner with, these individuals can find a warm meal and clothing and/or sleeping bags to help keep them warm. Shout out to The Highwaymen RC as well as Bowls and Blessings -Martin Luther Church Toronto for all the work they do to give back in their communities.

Having interviewed this beautiful and strong young woman a few weeks ago, I realized that I would have to break the KIS video into 2 Parts in order to allow people to see both sides of her incredible story.
Trish Hawley showed amazing strength while telling her story about surviving a rare form of nasal cancer after having her nose removed. She was candid and raw about her feelings during her treatments and procedures. I was in awe of how truly grateful she is to simply be alive. Trish has inspired me to continue to find the good in every single experience in my life, no matter how challenging or painful it may be.
Part 2 of this interview focuses on Trish's experience as a "Facially Different" individual. She speaks about how proud she is to represent and advocate for those with Facial Differences. Through the entire interview (both Part 1 & Part 2), I found myself being drawn into Trish's gratuitous nature. It was such a pleasure listening to her talk about how thankful she was for all the kind and caring people that she encountered throughout her journey.
Trish is part of a new campaign to raise awareness for the "Facially Different" called "Beyond Your Face". PART 1 - Interview with Trish Hawley
I feel honoured to have had the opportunity to interview this courageous, strong and beautiful woman.
Trish Hawley is one of the toughest and most gracious women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and our interview touched me deeply. I have never done a 2-Part interview before, but I found the need to separate Trish's cancer journey from her desire to advocate for those with "Facial Differences".
She is open and honest about her challenges and struggles after learning that she had a rare form of nasal cancer, which eventually resulted in the removal of her nose.
In Part 1 we are discussing her experiences from detection to diagnosis to the removal of her nose, and finally how she is doing today. Trish speaks about how truly grateful she is for the kindness and compassion shown to her from family, friends, co-workers and the medical team that has become like family.
I admit that I struggled while editing this interview because I just recently learned that another strong young woman in my life is now going through many of the same fears and anxieties that Trish has endured. Trish humbly claims that she has "borrowed" the strength of those who have been through similar experiences and have supported her until she could find her own inner strength.
It is my hope that this interview can help others reach out for support and find their own power to deal with whatever comes their way. Trish is happy to be a resource for anyone needing that support.
I really do hope that everyone takes the time to watch the entire video because I honestly think that Trish's story can relate to many situations and people can gain so much from her positive outlook.
I am truly in awe of the positivity that Trish exhibits while dealing with the aftermath of cancer and advocating for individuals with "Facial Differences".
I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet and interview such an inspiring young woman.

It is always Wonderful to sit down with bikers who want to give back and that's exactly what Jack, Darren and Highwaymen RC are doing this winter. These bikers are collecting Sleeping Bags for individuals experiencing homelessness in Simcoe County and the GTA.
This drive is going on from now until February 2022 and they would like to get as many sleeping bags out to those in need as soon as possible because the need is great and the weather is harsh.
Please support these men by purchasing the warmest sleeping bag you can find or a gift card so that they can purchase one on your behalf. Then all you have to do is reach out to Highwaymen RC. Jack Mint or Darren McGibbon on Facebook and they will take it from there.
These men will be handing out the sleeping bags and giving their time and attention to the people who really need to feel like they matter in this world, those who often feel like they are invisible and forgotten.
PLEASE show you love; GET INVOLVED and help these men help those in need this winter. What you get back is far greater than what you have given and what you have given can save a life.

I had the wonderful pleasure of interviewing Erin Sanderson who is one of the many volunteers who make the South Simcoe Pet Food Bank possible. We spoke about her many other volunteer efforts, including her work with Procyon Wildlife and the Pet Food Bank's connection with Ryan’s Hope, which is a charity that offers free breakfast for anyone who needs it in Barrie, Ontario.
Each of these charities could truly benefit from volunteer help and donations in order to allow them to continue the great work that they do. Please watch this interview to see how you can help!!

It was a great event at Gilford Haunted Mansion (Spirits of the Barn) where fear seekers got their "Spook" on for Halloween!! It was only $2/person and a portion of all proceeds went to Innisfil "Christmas for Kids".
The Dunsmoor family is celebrates halloween in a big way to give back to a local charity that has helped them in the past. They look forward to seeing everyone come out every year in support of Christmas for Kids in Innisfil and they always ask anyone who would like to support the Innisfil Food Bank to bring non-perishable food items.

I had a great time interviewing Jennifer Richardson as we spoke about the 2nd Annual Halloween House Decorating Contest that she started last year to support two local charities and to celebrate her husband's birthday during COVID restrictions. We spoke about who's going to be out decorating and the 2 charities that this event supports - the Innisfil Food Bank and Innisfil's Christmas for Kids (all year round). The judging committee LOVES driving around and seeing all the awesome Halloween displays and they CAN'T wait for the competition!!

Either way every house that enters will be entered into their prize draws to win some AMAZING prizes ... It's always a pleasure to sit down with incredible local small business owners like Megan Blades of Loved Again Bridal Boutique, because she is the kind of person who gives back on a regular basis. Her strong sense of community shines through every time she donates to members of her community.
Megan's store is located in downtown Barrie and, like so many other small businesses, it has been hugely affected by the lockdowns and restrictions due to COVID. Megan and I spoke about the struggles faced by local charities and small business owners during these harsh times. Even donating to charities has been more difficult due to the strict restrictions put upon organizations, but we know that it is still so important to give what you can, if and when you can.
Megan is always willing to help local charities and those who may be facing challenges. We talked about the importance of giving back to your community and shopping local to help keep small businesses running. Without local businesses, charities would be struggling even more than they already do.

I truly feel honoured to have the chance to interview this awesome young musician from Orillia, Ontario. Zain Campbell is incredibly inspirational for the youth in his town and the community in general. He spends a lot of his time working with and encouraging youth at the Orillia Youth Center and donating his musical talents to help Barrie’s only youth shelter, Youth Haven Canada.
Zain is such a genuine soul and he gets excited when he sees other artists and community members succeed in life. He has a natural ability to draw people to him with his positive spirit and kindness to others. I was impressed with this local artist from the moment I met him while I was organizing an event that I created during my time with Youth Haven.
Zain donated his talents to Youth Haven's 1st Annual Prom Night a few years back and he was a true inspiration to all the youth in attendance. Not only did Zain perform live on stage, but he took the time after his performance to interact with the youth while they danced and enjoyed the rest of the night.
Zain has achieved so much in his life and has found ways to deal with a medical diagnosis when he was young, called Tourette Syndrome. He is proof that anyone can succeed in life while dealing with a life altering condition. You just have to find your talent, work hard and keep a positive attitude.

My interview with Shakir Barmare of was all about the events that are organized through Beyond Giving in support of several local charities in Barrie, ON. "Glam It Up Barrie" and "MisBehaving Barrie" are two of the events that we spoke about and they support amazing causes like Women & Children's Shelter Barrie and Seasons Centre for Grieving Children.
Other charities supported by Beyond Giving are Rainbows for All Children Canada and C.O.P.E. Service Dogs Simcoe County.
We also spoke about the importance of simply being kind to others and taking the time to experience and understand the different cultures in our communities. You just never know how much fun you can have learning about traditions in other countries.

Protectors Of Youth Riding Club (PYRC), Guardians of the Children International, Riders Protecting Children (RPC) and North American Templars Canada (NATC) have joined forces to raise awareness and funds for Indigenous families affected by Canada’s Residential schools. Bikers United Coast to Coast, Barrie Leg was on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 at the SADLON ARENA, 555 Bayview Dr Barrie, east parking lot.
Bikers United Cost to Cost, Barrie Leg worked in conjunction with the Barrie Native Friendship Centre!! The flag campaign reaches PYRC in Barrie and they need your support. We want the world to know that today’s Canada will NOT tolerate past indecencies against our native friends! Details will follow on locations for other rallies, but PYRC Barrie received the flag and ended in North Bay where the North Bay Chapter will took over.
A newly designed indigenous flag and a copper flask travelled from Newfoundland where the copper flask was half filled with water from the Atlantic across Canada to the Pacific where it was topped up with water from the Pacific. Along the way, they hosted rallies in many cities and travelled along most major highways. All riders and clubs were encouraged to join wherever they could. Riders wore their orange and waved flags of support on all highway over passes where it was safe, and riding club presidents lead the packs while watching the incredible support Canada has for our indigenous friends.

I had a wonderful interview with Michelle to talk about her experience as a musician and a newcomer to Canada.
She experienced so much kindness in our country that she chose to stay and raise a family in the small town of Cookstown, ON. It was great to hear about the kindness that Michelle and her family received throughout their years living in their small town and all the wonderful examples of community love.
We spoke about the fact that her mom was the one who taught her to look for the good in the world and to give back whenever you can.

I would like to thank John Brassard - Member of Parliament Barrie-Innisfil for taking time out of his extremely busy schedule to sit down with me and talk about kindness and the incredible support that our communities show every day. We spoke about the importance of volunteering and giving back to the community that you live in.
John Brassard's office acknowledges those who give back to our community through his Barrie-Innisfil Volunteer Awards and we talked about how and when people can nominate the amazing volunteers in their area. John spoke about the pride in our communities and some of the new initiatives, such as the Innisfil Community Fridge.
We also spent time discussing how much charities need assistance with regard to raising awareness for their cause and volunteers for their events. This was a wonderful interview because I could see how truly proud John is of the communities that he represents and how much acknowledging those who do good work means to him.

This was a great interview with one of the most positive women that I have ever had the pleasure of interviewing. Tammy works for CMHA Peel-Dufferin and she has some great advice on how to care for your own mental health during the unprecedented times.
It is important to take time for yourself because if you are happy and strong it will be easier for you to help others through any challenges they may be facing. Tammy speaks about Volunteering, being Grateful for what you have, Taking Time just for "you" and Practicing Positivity. All of these things are great ways to improve your own mental health.

It was great interviewing Filipe, President of Luso M R and the rest of the awesome guys from Luso M Riders in order to help promote the Ride for fellow member Luis Baptista who was severely injured in a recent motorcycle accident.
His injuries are so serious that he is unable to return to work at this time and he is the sole provider for his family with a wife, a 6 year old and a 6 month old to support.
The Ride for Luis Baptista is happening on Sunday, July 11 at 8:30 am. $25/rider and $15/passenger. Ride begins at 605 Rogers Rd Parking Lot (Canecas Sports Bar & Martins Restaurant) in Toronto and it will follow a route North to Cookstown. Final destination will be at 3743 14th Line in Cookstown.

KIS - Kindness Is Sexy had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Dennis of the HIGHWAYMEN and Maddy of BACKROADS RC to discuss the Highwaymen Boot Drive 2021. This year’s boot drive is to support Food Banks Canada and its “After The Bell” program.
After The Bell provides breakfast, lunch and dinner for kids in school who just don’t have enough food to eat.

TIME: 10am - 4pm
LOCATION: Hwy 48 & park Rd, Georgina, ON
DJ Madness Entertainment-DJ Service will be donating his DJ services to entertain everyone during the event.

Rescuing Animals takes a lot of time, patience and research. You have to be committed to find the right shelter or rescue centre to care for them properly, but sometimes it takes days or weeks to find the right place so you need to be prepared to care for the animal safely and properly until a permanent space comes available.
Deanne McCallum has spent her whole life saving, caring for and finding proper sanctuaries for injured and abandoned animals.

I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Shawn Zerback of the Samsara Saints Riding Club and Dr. Liz Saul, Chair of the Board of COPE Service Dogs to discuss the incredible new initiative called Moto Synergy 2020 created by the Samara Saints RC to raise funds for this worthy cause. #MOTOSYNERGY2020 was set to be the Largest Automotive Extravaganza EVER to be held in Simcoe County!
It would have been, and may still be (in 2021), a truly Innovative Automotive Experience, fit for the whole family. At its heart, #MOTOSYNERGY2020 was to be a charitable initiative for COPE Service Dogs created by a group of innovative and iconic men called the Samsara Saints. As with every person, business, organization or event, the introduction of Covid-19 made it impossible for #MOTOSYNERGY2020 to continue as planned.

During COVID19 there are some people who are willing to get out there and give back to those who are struggling. Dennis Cartwright Jr. and Bruce Brethour decided to do what they can to raise funds for the Barrie Food Bank with a Boot Drive at the Tim Hortons/Petro Canada in Thornton, ON. They will be stationed there from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, May 16th, 2020 to take monetary and food donations to help keep the food bank full through this entire pandemic.
We did our best to social distance during this interview, which was a difficult task because we had to contend with the outside noises of cars, bikes and other outside noises ... but we wanted to get the word out for this great initiative. Many people who know me know that I have been dealing with concussion issues over the past few months, which caused me to have some challenges with regard to headaches, concentration and focus. I wasn't sure when I would get back to doing my videos and I have a couple of interviews from 2019 that I still have put together, but I wanted to start 2020 with this fun interview with Santa Claus.
Santa spends each year visiting Nursing Homes to bring joy and gifts to Seniors thanks to a program called "Sponsor a Senior for Christmas". I think this is a great way to start the new year and a new decade!! I would also like to encourage anyone who has time on their hands to visit a senior who doesn't have family or friends and needs company. Sometimes all it takes is 1 hour two or three times a week just to give them someone to talk to or someone to read a story to them. Please give the gift of you time to someone you feel could use it.

America and Regina (AmericaRegina Martinez-Vilchez) work hard to bring strength and calm to those around them. They give back to their local animal shelter and promote kindness every day by educating the customers of their business at the Divine Sisters Metaphysical Store.

There are people in our communities who give back on a regular basis but are so deeply humble that it inspires you and draws you into their kindness and generosity. Don Wright, owner of Running Rabbit Productions and long time local reporter is one of those people.
I enjoyed every second of our interview and all the in-between conversations. While it always came back to Don insisting that he doesn’t do anything more than the average person, I happen to know that is completely incorrect.

When thinking about how blessed I am to have so many Amazingly Kind people in my life, I can’t help but be thankful for JC (Joao Carlos Silva) and his family and friends.
JC is a singer, song writer and producer who has a passion for helping others and the backing of his incredible family and friends to make some remarkable things happen. He has an amazing Musical Group called “Luso Fado Group” that wants to share the Portuguese Fado style music with the general Canadian audience.

For Canada Day we wanted to interview someone who always gives back to his community, so I chose to interview my husband Steve Madeley.
Steve has been giving back his whole life and that’s what helps him through hard times and makes the good times even better. After finding himself in the middle of the biggest struggle of his life he has chosen to push through it all by giving back even more than he normally does.
That's the kind of person I interview ... those who give back without looking for anything in return. Thank you for allowing me to interview you and for telling others why it’s important to give to those in need.

Bikers often get a bad rap, but over the next couple of months I will be interviewing several bikers (male and female) who go above and beyond for others. Bikers like Anne, owner of Bandanas & Bling by Gypsy Hugz.
Anne creates amazing bandanas and donates portions of the proceeds from many of her sales to incredible causes like "A Place Called Home" (homeless shelter), Camp Ooch (thru the Burrbilly Girls Weekend)), etc. Thank you so much Anne for going out of your comfort zone and sitting down with me to talk about the kindness that you continue to show to those in need.

Sharon Smith, owner of Connect Hair Studio organized her 5 annual Women's Connection event in Barrie, ON with all proceeds going to Habitat For Humanity Huronia As an annual attendee of Women's Connection events I was honoured to have an opportunity to interview Sharon Smith to discuss this year's event and the charity that she is supporting.
This year's theme was "Flower Power" and women were encouraged to dress up in their favourite 60's outfit, Go Go Boots and all. It was a great night of networking, prizes, live auction items and supporting a worthy cause!!

This has been the hardest interview for me to do. On April 15th our daughter celebrates her 20th Birthday without her long time friend who passed away due to complications from Cystic Fibrosis, so she has decided to Raise Funds for CF in her honour.
Victoria Benner was one of "MY Girls" ... a precious soul who used to call me Momma #3 since she had so many of us who cared deeply for her. Saying Goodbye to such a beautiful soul has made Cassydi want to do something to help those living with the condition and possibly assist in finding a cure. KIS - Kindness Is Sexy with Shane L.S Dennis For the 8th year in a row, Shane L.S Dennis, owner of Unity Market Café and Studio, is spending the seven days before Christmas sleeping in a cardboard box. Shane explains that “On any given night there are more than 50,000 people living on the streets or in extremely impoverished conditions”.
From Dec 18th-25th, Shane will be raising donations and awareness for the David Busby Centre, Youth Haven Canada and the Women & Children's Shelter of Barrie. Monetary donations can be made in cash, online at www.busbycentre.ca or www.barrieshelter.com, www.youthhaven.ca or by cheques payable to “The David Busby Street Centre”, "Youth Haven" or “The Women and Children’s Shelter of Barrie”.
